Scope: This project was a lower completion of the fibre optic cable therefore requiring the shutdown of the drill floor. As this is an ATEX Zone 1 area they required a Habitat system to enable hot works to be carried out on the drill deck of the platform.
StS provided Baker Hughes with 2 Habitats systems with an external air lock around the wellhead over a 4 week period for this project. All hot works had to be completed while the platform was in full production due to the cost involved. The scope was completed without delay which allowed for normal operations to proceed as planned.
Result: StS personnel worked closely alongside Baker Hughes personnel to ensure everything was working according to plan without any incidents or delays.
