Scope: The Culzean Platform was extending the fibre optic cable therefore requiring the shutdown of several wellheads. As this is an ATEX Zone 1 area they required a Habitat system to enable hot works to be carried out on the well deck of the platform.
StS provided Baker Hughes with several Habitats over an 18 month period for this project. All hot works had to be completed while the platform was in full production due to the cost involved. The scope was completed without delay which allowed for normal operations to proceed as planned.
Result: This was a very difficult time as the project ran through the Covid-19 global pandemic however StS personnel worked closely with both Baker Hughes and Total Energy personnel to ensure everything was working safely according to plan without any incidents or delays.
